4 Cities for Amazing St. Patrick’s Day Vacations

March 17th is around the corner and you may still be looking for a more significant way to celebrate the honorable saint of Ireland. Not only are there plenty of places like Boston and Chicago known for their St. Patrick’s Day celebrations, but also other beloved cities with plenty of fun activities and events happening!

Here are 4 cities we think you should consider for St. Patrick’s Day vacations:

Nashville

Thanks to St. Patrick’s Day landing on a Friday this year, you can enjoy activities all weekend long in places like Nashville! There are several bar crawls, block parties, and live music happening around the city which are all great ways to meet and get to know new people while having fun with your friends!

For those who are feeling ambitious and love to run, Nashville also hosts a St. Paddy’s Day 5k and Half Marathon on March 12. Dress in your favorite green gear and see views of this fantastic city you might not ever experience again!

New York City

New York City has been hosting the world’s largest and oldest St. Patrick’s Day parade since 1762 and it doesn’t disappoint! There are approximately 150,000 people marching in the parade and the celebration brings in around 2 million parade watchers each year! Expect to enjoy the parade from 11:00 AM to 4:30 PM from Fifth Avenue beginning at East 44th Street and ending at East 79th Street.

In addition to the parade, you can find a variety of Irish pubs around New York City to really get in the spirit of the day. After you have a meal and a drink, learn about Irish history by visiting the breathtaking St. Patrick’s Cathedral, located in the center of Midtown and opposite the Rockefeller Center as well as the Tenement Museum on the Lower East Side.

Orlando

Orlando never misses an opportunity to celebrate a holiday and St. Patrick’s Day is no exception. The weeks leading up to St. Patrick’s Day weekend are full of local events including the Shamrock Party an Ode to St. Patrick’s Day on March 9, the 5th Annual St. Paddy’s Day Truck Pull and Street Festival on March `8, St. Patrick’s Day Festival in the park on March 17, and so much more!

Not to mention, there are endless dining and drinking opportunities found around the city. For those looking to spend time in the iconic Orlando theme parks, there are often small events and limited-edition foods and merch available for purchase on or around St. Patrick’s Day!

Las Vegas

Las Vegas goes all out for holidays, including St. Patrick’s Day! There are several multi-day events you won’t want to miss like the Fremont Street Experience ShamRock festivities which are considered the heart of St. Patrick’s Day celebrations in the city. There is also the 54th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Festival located in the Water Street Plaza for people of all ages!

For anyone looking for an Irish meal, there are several popular pubs and restaurants found all throughout Las Vegas like Rí Rá at Mandalay Bay which will include Irish bands for the holiday, Hennessey’s Tavern on Fremont Street, McMullan’s Irish Pub located next to The Orleans, O’sheas at The LINQ, and Nine Fine Irishmen at New York-New York.
